11 is a very cold number

elevn degrees NYC

There is in fact a reason for the lack of commentary – NYC is in full on hibernation mode. This can be translated to eat whatever you can find at your desk or in your building cafeteria to avoid going outside, cancel all plans unless they involve food and drinks, talk about how at least it’s not snowing out despite it being 11 degrees and make plans for the spring (which is still 55 days away and no guarantee of warmth).

Most people try to take a vacation right about now. We are included, however, I promised my partner we could take a ski vacation for the first time ever (ski trips are usually reserved for weekends only to pass the brutal California weather – ha! What a joke that is now). So I have a balmy 28 degree vacation waiting for me. Looks like that tan complexion will have to wait.

The part that is equally, if not more, difficult is that every is in future mode. No one really wants to think about the present. I don’t blame them, but I don’t want to join them either. I just made an acupuncture appointment in hopes of re-centering a bit. It’s a community clinic which means you’re in a room with other patients and, the best part, you can pay on a sliding scale.

I’ll keep you posted. Also, SAD light review coming. I returned the first and I’m trying this one. Wishing you (and me) warmth. <3
